With our portable commercial mill, we cut logs into valuable lumber for commercial and private landowners. We bring the saw mill to your site and produce usable lumber cut to your dimensions, saving you the costs of transporting logs to the saw mill. Onsite saw mill services is an excellent compliment to our Land & Brush clearing services or a standalone project.

PORTABLE SAWMILLING

Our bandsaw mill fits logs less than 34” wide by 18’. Bandsaw mills provide a superior, accurate cut with a thinner blade than circular saws, producing more usable lumber per log and leaving a cleaner cut.

COMMON TERMINOLOGY & CUTS

• Board Foot: A volume measurement of wood. 1 board foot (bf) = 1foot wide x 1foot long x 1inch thick

• Cant: The block of wood remaining from a log after removing the bark

• Kerf: The thickness of wood that is removed with one pass of the blade

• Plain Sawn: This is the fastest and most commonly used method of sawing to maximize board feet per day.

• Rift Sawn: Ideal for custom furniture makers to use for tables, chairs and other straight pieces producing the highest quality boards with reduced board feet per day.

• Quarter Sawn: Combination of Plain & Rift sawn lumber by producing more dimensionally stable boards than Plain Sawn with minimal waste and higher board feet production over Rift Sawn.
